This role is for a Weld Engineer in a dynamic, fast-paced startup environment, bridging the gap between engineering theory and production reality. The engineer will develop advanced welding procedures, design critical fixtures, and ensure high quality for stainless steel products. It is a mid-senior level position for a proactive professional who thrives on autonomy and technical problem-solving.
Key Responsibilities Process Development & R&D• Develop and implement Welding Procedure Specifications (WPS) for complex alloys and critical joints.
• Conduct R&D to test new fabrication processes, improve existing equipment, and modify welding methods.
• Establish internal passivation methods for stainless steel welds.
• Design welding fixtures using Solid Works and AutoCAD 2D.
• Evaluate emerging welding technologies for current production challenges.
• Partner with procurement for supply chain development.
• Direct technical personnel in inspections for compliance.
• Oversee testing and certification of welding personnel.
• Ensure all work meets ISO 9000 or similar standards.
Education & Experience
Bachelor’s in Materials/Welding Engineering (2–4 yrs exp) OR 10+ years specialized expertise.
Certifications
Level II Visual Weld Inspector (VT) Required.
Software Skills
Solid Works, AutoCAD, MS Office.
Physical RequirementsOffice & shop floor environment.
Lifting up to 50 lbs.
Standing & walking frequency.
