Staff Traffic/Transportation Planner – New Haven, CT
We are a leading environmental and sustainability consulting firm delivering integrated advisory, technical environmental, and engineering services. As part of our Community and Mobility Planning (CAMP) team, you will develop transportation studies, traffic engineering analyses, and design plans for projects that include private development impact studies, public‑sector mobility planning, and smart‑growth initiatives.
Responsibilities- Prepare transportation planning and traffic engineering studies, reports, and design plans.
- Adhere to project schedules and budget constraints.
- Collaborate across disciplines to support project objectives.
- Demonstrate initiative and the willingness to learn and understand concepts.
- Bachelor’s degree in Transportation Engineering, Planning, or related field.
- EIT certification or ability to obtain certification within 1‑2 years.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
- Familiarity with HCS, SYNCHRO/Sim Traffic, VISSIM, CADD, GIS software (desirable).
- Knowledge of local, state, and federal guidelines, standards, and policies (desirable).
- Valid driver’s license.
- Critical thinker who is thorough, detail‑oriented, and dedicated to quality work.
- Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships and work collaboratively in a team environment.
