Position: Construction Electrical Estimator - New Haven, Connecticut

Mission Hires is seeking a detail-oriented Construction Electrical Estimator to evaluate project costs, develop competitive bids, manage project life cycles, and ensure budgets and schedules are met. You will analyze blueprints, prepare estimates and proposals, coordinate with field teams, and deliver clear reporting to stakeholders. Salary: $70–80K.

Responsibilities
  • Analyze blueprints, specifications, and scope documents to quantify electrical materials, labor, and equipment
  • Develop detailed cost estimates and competitive bids for construction electrical projects
  • Prepare proposal documents, clarifications, and value engineering options
  • Manage project lifecycle tasks including budgeting, scheduling, and cost control
  • Coordinate with field staff, vendors, and subcontractors to validate pricing and constructability
  • Track and report project progress, variances, and forecasted costs to stakeholders
  • Perform takeoffs using standard estimating methods and tools
  • Ensure compliance with applicable electrical codes and industry standards
  • Support RFI development, change orders, and bid leveling
  • Maintain organized estimate files, assumptions, and historical cost data
Requirements
  • 0–3 years of experience in electrical estimating or related construction/electrical roles
  • Bachelor’s degree in civil engineering, electrical engineering, construction management, or related field
  • Working knowledge of electrical codes and industry standards
  • Strong analytical, quantitative, and detail-oriented skills for estimating and takeoffs
  • Clear written and verbal communication skills for proposals and stakeholder updates
  • Ability to manage budgets, schedules, and multiple bids/projects concurrently
  • Proficiency with blueprint reading and interpretation
  • Familiarity with estimating tools/spreadsheets and basic project reporting
  • Collaborative mindset to coordinate with field staff, vendors, and internal teams
