We are seeking a motivated Construction Administration Lead to join our growing team.
Job DescriptionAs the Construction Administration Leader at DME, you will lead the firm's construction administration efforts across multiple projects. You will serve as the primary resource for construction‑phase support, ensuring engineering designs are properly executed in the field while maintaining exceptional client service. This role requires extensive experience with MEP systems, construction practices, and collaboration with owners, architects, contractors, and internal engineering teams.
Key Responsibilities- Lead DME's construction administration services across multiple concurrent projects.
- Serve as the primary point of contact for owners, contractors, architects, and construction managers during project execution.
- Review shop drawings, product data, equipment submittals, and material substitutions for compliance with project requirements.
- Manage Requests for Information (RFIs) and coordinate timely engineering responses.
- Conduct site observations to verify construction progress, identify deficiencies, and prepare detailed field reports.
- Support equipment startup, testing, commissioning, and owner turnover activities.
- Lead punch list inspections and verify completion of outstanding items.
- Maintain construction documentation including observation reports, meeting minutes, and correspondence.
- Identify constructability concerns and quality issues before and during construction.
- Mentor engineering staff on construction administration best practices.
- Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Architectural Engineering, Construction Management, or a related field.
- 10+ years of experience in MEP engineering, construction administration, commissioning, or construction management.
- Strong understanding of construction documents, specifications, and MEP building systems.
- Excellent communication, leadership, and client relationship skills.
- Strong organizational and problem‑solving abilities.
- Experience conducting field observations and coordinating with contractors.
- Bonus:
Professional Engineering (PE) License. - Bonus:
Experience with Procore, Bluebeam, Autodesk Construction Cloud, BIM 360, or similar platforms.
