RF Coil Engineer Position

Seeking to hire of a full-time radio frequency (RF) coil engineer who can support the Yale MRRC and Yale Biomedical Imaging Institute research programs. The primary responsibility as RF coil engineer will be focused on designing, constructing, and repairing RF coils for clinical and pre-clinical MR and PET/MR scanners. These activities will include, but are not limited to, perform EM simulations, CAD design, build and test coils on the bench, evaluate them in an MRI environment, and run safety tests.

Secondary responsibilities include design and construction of electronic instrumentation to support research, such as those related to novel MRI hardware (gradient coils and amplifiers, frequency-conversion units), RF receiver paths (pre-amplifiers, T/R switching, pin-diode switching), fMRI stimulation, and interfacing of optical and other hardware to the magnet.

This position will be funded by the MRRC core facility and grants that require their expertise on funded research projects. The position requires a minimum of two years of research training experience following the attainment of a PhD degree. Appropriate field(s) of study/research for an Associate Research Scientist are Biomedical Imaging, Biomedical Engineering, Computer Science, Physics, and other fields in the Biological and Biomedical Sciences.

The ideal candidate also has experience with the development of MRI hardware, software, and applications, as well as medical image analysis.
