The Events & Promotions Planner role at Mohegan Sun presents a remarkable opportunity for an experienced professional to join a dedicated team driving the design, development, and execution of consumer engagement strategies and private events. This full-time position requires a proactive individual responsible for managing marketing campaigns executed across multiple channels including digital, print, social media, paid media, email, and postal mail.
Key responsibilities encompass coordinating promotional activities with internal departments, external agencies, corporate partners, and promotional sponsors. The Planner ensures consistent communication strategies across advertising, direct mail, and online platforms while overseeing all stages of event management—from concept through completion—for a variety of events such as slot and table game tournaments, giveaways, tier events, charitable and community occasions, Asian marketing events, and meet-and-greet sessions.
The role demands a high degree of organizational skill to establish internal controls and enforce departmental policies related to promotional initiatives. This includes budget management, forecasting, evaluation, and measurement of promotional effectiveness. The Planner is also tasked with scheduling and leading the events and promotions staff, managing all aspects of event design, coordinating product orders with the purchasing team, and preserving confidentiality regarding marketing programs and guest information.
Adherence to regulatory and tribal gaming commission standards is imperative.
Additional duties involve assisting in project tracking and monthly analysis, ensuring regulatory compliance for promotions, creating promotion-related communications, negotiating event contracts, and working closely with the legal and public events teams. Ideal candidates are expected to possess a bachelor’s degree in marketing, communications, or a related field, alongside at least three years of supervisory experience in event management or the gaming/hospitality sector.
Superior communication, organizational, and time management abilities are essential, as is familiarity with casino management systems like GHS and ACSC, as well as Microsoft Office products. Public speaking skills and professional interaction with customers round out the required capabilities.
