Controller, Finance & Banking, Financial Manager

ASSA ABLOY Group is the global leader in access solutions. The Americas division is responsible for North and South America. The corporate finance team in New Haven, CT is recruiting a Controller to report to the CFO of ASSA ABLOY Opening Solutions, Americas.

• Assist in driving financial results of the business to optimize performance.
• Maintain effective internal controls to safeguard assets and ensure accurate reporting.
• Oversee all aspects of finance and accounting functions, self‑performing critical tasks.
• Document systems of accounting policies and procedures; maintain accounting, tax and corporate files.
• Prepare quarterly consolidated financial statements, and standard monthly and quarterly financial reports.
• Prepare the annual budgeting report and management cost reports.
• Provide financial analyses for capital investments, pricing, decision and contract negotiations.
• Manage the monthly closing process including inventory, sales reconciliations, payroll summaries, account analysis, and journal entries.
• Produce budgets, forecasts and operating metrics.
• Participate in special projects, including acquisition opportunities and compile special reports.
• Additional responsibilities as required by the Americas CFO.

• BS in Accounting or Finance. MBA and/or CPA highly desired.
• 10+ years of progressively responsible experience in a major company or division of a large, global corporation.
• Experience in a multi‑site, manufacturing environment.
• Knowledge of IFRS and financial statement presentation.
• Advanced knowledge of MS Office applications, especially Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.
• Ability to work and manage in a matrix organization.
• Understanding of the principles of product introduction.
• Familiarity with a variety of field and industry concepts, practices, and procedures.
• Collaborative working style, capable of working in multicultural teams.
• High level of integrity and dependability with a strong sense of urgency and results orientation.
• Good organizational, oral and written communication skills.
• Self‑starter with customer service skills.
• Ability to interface effectively with all levels of company personnel.
• Ability to travel up to 25%.
