Overview
ASSA ABLOY Group is the global leader in access solutions. The corporate finance team in New Haven, CT is recruiting a Controller to report to the CFO of ASSA ABLOY Opening Solutions, Americas. The role will manage accounting functions, provide oversight of operating reports and statutory filings, establish and maintain financial controls, and support strategic direction for the accounting department.
Responsibilities- Assist in driving financial results to optimize business performance.
- Serve as a trusted business partner, providing decisive insights on financial matters.
- Maintain effective internal controls to protect assets and ensure accurate financial reporting.
- Oversee all aspects of the finance and accounting functions, performing critical tasks as needed.
- Maintain documented accounting policies, procedures, tax and corporate files.
- Prepare quarterly consolidated financial statements and standard monthly/quarterly financial reports.
- Lead the annual budgeting process and produce management cost reports.
- Provide financial analyses for capital investments, pricing, decision‑making and contract negotiations.
- Manage the monthly closing process, including inventory, sales reconciliations, payroll summaries, account analysis, and journal entry adjustments.
- Produce budgets, forecasts and operating metrics.
- Participate in special projects such as acquisition opportunities and prepare special reports.
- Travel up to 25% as required.
- Additional responsibilities as directed by the Americas CFO.
- B.S. in Accounting or Finance (MBA and/or CPA highly desired).
- 10+ years of progressive experience in a major company or division of a large, global corporation.
- Experience in a multi‑site, manufacturing environment.
- Knowledge of IFRS and financial statement presentation.
- Advanced proficiency in MS Office applications, especially Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.
- Ability to work and manage within a matrix organization.
- Understanding of product introduction principles.
- Familiarity with field and industry concepts, practices, and procedures.
- Collaborative working style with strong teamwork in multicultural settings.
- High integrity, dependability, sense of urgency, and results orientation.
- Excellent organizational, oral, and written communication skills.
- Self‑starter with strong customer service skills.
- Effective interface with all levels of company personnel.
