Stonehenge is currently seeking a Director in New Haven, Connecticut, to join its Direct Investing team. This position will be a leadership position on the team and will include management of Connecticut-focused funds. The group provides senior term credit, subordinated debt, and equity investments to operating companies and invests capital through its second SBIC, as well as state and federal economic development programs.
ResponsibilitiesInclude
Focus on business development for multiple Stonehenge funds providing senior stretch, mezzanine and equity capital in Connecticut and the region.
Represent Stonehenge in the Connecticut marketplace through a strong existing referral source network.
Originate new investment opportunities through marketing to key referral sources.
Work closely with regulators to ensure regulatory compliance.
Desired Experience and SkillsA deep network within the Connecticut business community and a minimum 8-10 year track record of originating investments in lower middle market businesses.
Familiarity with credit underwriting for non-bank transactions.
A strong work ethic and self-starter mentality, with the ability to create enduring relationships.
Solid interpersonal skills.
An ability to discuss financing options with business owners and management teams.
Undergraduate or graduate degree in accounting, finance, economics, or a relevant field of study.
The highest degree of ethics and integrity and a “team player” mentality.
