Assistant Director of Finance
Lead financial operations for a mission-driven organization with a $5.6M budget and more than $41M in endowment assets. This is an ideal opportunity for an experienced nonprofit finance professional who enjoys both strategic leadership and hands‑on accounting execution.
Salary: $90K-$100K

- Oversee day‑to‑day accounting operations, including AP, AR, payroll, reconciliations, and cash management
- Prepare and analyze financial reports for leadership and external stakeholders
- Maintain and strengthen internal controls, compliance processes, and financial policies
- Support annual budgeting, year‑end close, and external audit activities
- Manage endowment accounting, donor‑restricted funds, and Yale‑related financial transactions
- Evaluate and improve financial systems, workflows, and reporting processes
- 7+ years of progressive accounting or finance experience in the nonprofit sector
- Strong knowledge of GAAP and nonprofit accounting principles
- Master's degree in a relevant field or 5+ years of finance management experience
- Experience with cloud‑based financial systems, preferably Sage Intacct, BILL, and Blackbaud
- Experience with endowment accounting and donor‑restricted net assets
- CPA or CMA designation preferred
