Senior Radiochemist

This is a full-time onsite Senior Radiochemist position in our New Haven, Connecticut facility. The ideal candidate will oversee production, quality control, and assist with the advancement of radiopharmaceuticals for clinical and research applications. This role requires expertise in radiochemistry, compliance with Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP), and a commitment to safety and innovation.

• Lead the synthesis and quality control of radiopharmaceuticals for use in imaging studies.
• Ensure compliance with GMP, FDA, and other regulatory standards for radiopharmaceutical production.
• Develop and optimize radio chemical processes for new and existing products.
• Maintain and troubleshoot radiochemistry equipment and instrumentation.
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams, including quality assurance, clinicians, and regulatory personnel.
• Train and mentor junior staff in radiochemistry techniques and safety protocols.
• Prepare and maintain detailed documentation, including batch records and standard operating procedures (SOPs).

• Ph.D. in Radiochemistry, Organic Chemistry, or a related field (Master’s degree with significant experience may be considered).
• Minimum of 5 years of experience in Fluorie-18 radiopharmaceutical production or a related field.
• Strong knowledge of GMP and regulatory requirements for radiopharmaceuticals.
• Proficiency in handling radioactive materials and operating radiochemistry equipment.
• Excellent problem-solving, organizational, and communication skills.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
• Familiarity with automated synthesis modules and analytical techniques such as HPLC and GC.

• Experience with cyclotron operation and maintenance.
• Knowledge of clinical research protocols
• This position works in an environment with radioactive materials, radiopharmaceuticals.
• May need to lift up to 50 pounds.
• Depending on assignment, it may include occasional travel to contract manufacturing companies.
