Job Title: Senior Technology Specialist
Reports To: Director of Technology and/or Operations Technology Manager
Location: East Haven High School Technology Department
Education: Associates of Science Degree, Bachelor preferred
Salary: $ 63,626.63 per year as listed in the Technician's contract
The Senior Technology Specialist provides high level support of data systems, networking and
communication infrastructure and systems interoperability. A valid motor vehicle driver's license is
required.
Experience:
- Demonstrated aptitude or competence for successful fulfillment of assigned performance
responsibilities - Experience with student information systems (Power School preferred)
- Experience with trouble ticket and asset management systems
- Experience with wired and wireless network configuration and troubleshooting
- Experience with VolP phone systems
- Experience with hardware platforms including Chromebooks, Mac Books, desktop and laptop
PCs, Apple TV, and large format displays - Strong verbal and written communication skills
- Ability to collaboratively in a team setting and independently when solving problems
- Experience in a K-12 public education environment preferred
- Experience with Google Workspace for Education administration preferred
- Experience with security camera and video management systems preferred
- Relevant industry certifications (e.g. CompTIA A+, Network+, Google Certified) preferred
Responsibilities: - Technical Support and Escalations
- Serve as the primary escalation point for complex technical issues that cannot be resolved by
front-line support staff - Diagnose and resolve advanced hardware, software, network, and system problems across all
district locations - Document troubleshooting procedures and solutions for recurring issues
- Assist with configuration, maintenance, and troubleshooting of network equipment, servers
and virtualization platforms - Provide hands-on support for the district IP phone system and security camera infrastructure
- Support infrastructure projects and system upgrades as directed by the Operations
Technology Manager - End-User Devices and Hardware
- Manage Chromebook and laptop imaging, deployment and MDM configuration
- Oversee hardware inventory, asset tracking, and equipment lifecycle processes
- Support classroom technology including interactive displays and audio systems
Collaboration and Security - Assist with content filtering, security incident response, and CIPA compliance
- Provide guidance and informal mentorship to technology support staff
- Participate in after-hours support rotation and emergency response as required

- Ability to get from one location in the office or work sites(s) to other locations in primary
office or work sites. - Ability to perform manipulative skills such as writing, collating, using a keyboard and/or
calculator with speed and accuracy for long periods of time. - Ability to concentrate on detail and issue with some interruption, pressure and changing
priorities. - Memory to perform multiple and diverse tasks over long periods of time and the ability to
remember information that has been previously learned. - Ability to use knowledge and reasoning to solve routine problems.
- Ability to learn and apply new information, technology and legislation applicable to
departmental activities. - Ability to distinguish between public and confidential information and handle appropriately.
