Role Purpose
The purpose of this role is to provide significant technical expertise in architecture planning and design of the concerned tower (platform, database, middleware, backup etc) as well as manage its day‑to‑day operations.
Responsibilities- Architecture Planning & Migration
- Provide support in architecture planning, migration & installation for new projects in own tower (platform/dbase/middleware/backup)
- Lead structural/ad architectural design of platform/middleware/database/backup to ensure scalable & extensible solution
- Conduct technology capacity planning by reviewing current and future requirements
- Utilize new features of underlying technologies to ensure smooth functioning of installed databases and applications/platforms
- Strategize & implement disaster recovery and backup plans
- Day‑to‑Day Operations
- Troubleshoot issues, conduct root cause analysis and develop fixes to avoid recurrence
- Plan and manage upgrades, migration, maintenance, backup, installation and configuration functions for own tower
- Review technical performance and implement improvements to efficiency
- Develop shift roster for uninterrupted operations
- Create and update SOPs, Data Responsibility Matrices, operations manuals, test plans, and data architecture guidance
- Provide weekly status reports to client leadership and internal stakeholders on database activities
- Use technology to develop Service Improvement Plan (SIP) through automation and initiatives for higher efficiency
- Resourcing
- Forecast talent requirements based on current and future business needs
- Hire adequate and right resources for the team
- Train direct reportees to make proper recruitment and selection decisions
- Talent Management
- Ensure compliance with onboarding and training standards
- Build internal talent pool of high potential candidates and support career progression
- Promote diversity in leadership positions
- Performance Management
- Set goals, conduct performance reviews and provide constructive feedback
- Ensure understanding of organizational programs such as Performance Nxt
- Employee Satisfaction & Engagement
- Drive engagement initiatives for the team
- Track satisfaction scores and identify engagement initiatives
- Provide challenging projects and initiatives for team members
- Recognize and appreciate employee contributions
- Operations of the tower and SLA adherence
- Knowledge management
- Customer experience (CSAT)
- Risk identification and mitigation plans
- Timely delivery of new projects
- Avoid unauthorized changes and formal escalations
Mandatory Skills
- Microsoft Active Directory Administration
- 5‑8 years of experience
Compensation
The expected compensation for this role ranges from $60,000 to $135,000, based on location, minimum wage obligations, skills and experience. The role is eligible for Wipro’s standard benefits including medical, dental, disability insurance, paid time off (including sick leave), and other leave options.
