Supply Chain Category Manager

Duties

• Collaborate extensively with Engineering and Manufacturing departments to orchestrate sourcing, negotiation, and procurement of new and established electronic and electro‑mechanical components.
• Focus on assemblies, engineering services and production line testing to support New Product Innovation initiatives while adhering to manufacturing schedules and cost objectives.
• Play an integral role within the ASSA ABLOY Americas Supply Chain Team, driving operational excellence.
• Spearhead the identification, selection and qualification of suppliers aligned with the company's strategic vision for product development.
• Conduct comprehensive supplier evaluations across quality, technology, service, cost competitiveness, capacity, financial robustness, flexibility and commitment.
• Utilize strong negotiation skills to secure optimal pricing and terms, and execute master purchase‑level agreements.
• Craft strategic sourcing initiatives to advance the electronics supply category within the network.
• Act as Project Manager, collaborating with various teams to ensure strategy execution alignment.
• Proactively anticipate product‑development requirements while optimizing sourcing timelines and material procurement cycles.

• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering Management, Electrical Engineering, Purchasing and Supply, Supply Chain Management or a related field.
• Minimum 3 years of experience in planning and buying electronic components, including management of electronic commodity categories.
• Proficiency in MS Excel for data manipulation, functions, charts, and analysis of large data sets.
• Experience quantifying and evaluating manufacturing processes and technologies to ensure best‑cost solutions.
• Negotiation experience for Master Level Agreements and electronic vendor contracts.
• Knowledge of electrical circuit design process, PCB layout design, component packaging and raw PCB suppliers.
• Ability to work with multiple levels of management and cross‑functional teams.
• Experience in NPD project management and new supplier onboarding.
• Familiarity with ERP systems.
• Willingness to travel 20% domestic and international.
