Overview

Arvinas is a clinical‑stage biotechnology company developing therapies that degrade disease‑causing proteins using its PROTAC Discovery Engine platform.

The company’s pipeline includes pre‑clinical PROTAC degraders and three investigational clinical‑stage programs targeting neurodegenerative disorders, non‑Hodgkin lymphoma and KRAS G12D‑mutated solid tumors.

Position Summary

The Asset Team Leader leads cross‑functional oncology asset teams, driving strategy and seamless execution of early‑oncology development programs. The role reports to the SVP, Asset Strategy and Team Leadership and may be remote, hybrid, or based at headquarters in New Haven, CT.

Responsibilities
  • Lead cross‑functional oncology asset teams and act as program representative to executive management.
  • Negotiate with and influence key internal and external stakeholders.
  • Drive generation and execution of the program strategy and Integrated Development Plans, aligning with governance and executive management.
  • Coordinate strategic and operational efforts with Clinical Research, Clinical Operations, Regulatory, CMC, New Product Planning, and Project Management to ensure seamless execution.
  • Partner with Research to move programs from exploratory research into development.
  • Collaborate with functional leads to create and evaluate detailed scenario plans based on the external landscape and business needs.
  • Manage timelines, financial accountability, and other vital metrics for multiple projects simultaneously; coordinate deliverables across all functions.
  • Work closely with the Project Manager to monitor program progress, manage costs, resource allocation, and identify risks, resolving issues and optimizing performance.
  • Set team objectives, prioritize work, and drive performance to ensure adherence to plan and strategy.
  • Manage proactive risk, issue identification, resolution, and contingency planning.
  • Create a positive team environment, fostering trust, clear communication, and consensus on program goals.
  • Represent programs at governance and decision‑making meetings.
  • Lead and/or support corporate objectives involving assets, including board meeting preparation, earnings preparation, and corporate presentations.
  • Lead the External Engagement subteam.
  • Supervise and mentor junior staff.
Qualifications
  • Significant drug‑development leadership experience, managing cross‑functional teams and stakeholders, specifically in early oncology asset teams.
  • Minimum 15 years of relevant experience in the pharmaceutical, academic, and/or medical research environments.
  • Proven ability to lead and influence data‑driven strategy planning and implementation.
  • A proactive, strategic thinker with strong decision‑making skills.
  • Experience functioning effectively across a matrix organization with multiple stakeholders.
  • Demonstrated success leading teams to run efficiently, on target, and on schedule.
  • Strong interpersonal communication skills and ability to work cooperatively in a partially virtual, cross‑functional setting.
  • Excellent business acumen and judgment, aligning teams to corporate strategy to achieve business and project goals.
  • Strong staff management and mentoring experience.
  • Highly collaborative with outstanding relationship‑building skills.
  • Will have the ability to work without needing current or future VISA sponsorship.
  • Position is performed at a mixture of office and home environments; employees must be able to lift/carry 15–30 pounds unassisted/assisted, work safely around biological/hazardous materials, use a computer, and be available during standard business hours.
Education
  • Ph.D., M.D., MBA, or an advanced degree in biomedical sciences or a related discipline.
