Overview

To be part of our organization, every employee should understand and share in the YNHHS Vision, support our Mission, and live our Values. These values - integrity, patient-centered, respect, accountability, and compassion - must guide what we do, as individuals and professionals, every day.

The Senior Planner is a strategic leader in healthcare facilities planning, responsible for guiding master planning initiatives and complex projects from concept through schematic design. This role provides advanced technical expertise and serves as a trusted advisor to leadership, ensuring that planning solutions align with institutional priorities, operational objectives, and long-term capital investment strategies.

The Senior Planner leads system-wide space utilization analysis, forecasts future growth, and develops integrated planning solutions that optimize functionality, flexibility, and patient-centered care. Acting as a key liaison across multidisciplinary teams—including architects, engineers, clinicians, and administrators—the Senior Planner facilitates workshops, builds consensus, and translates strategic goals into actionable design recommendations.

In addition to managing high-impact projects, this role mentors junior planners, enforces compliance with regulatory standards such as ADA and FGI, and drives continuous improvement in planning methodologies and tools. By combining visionary thinking with practical execution, the Senior Planner shapes the health system’s physical environment to support innovation, efficiency, and exceptional patient experiences.
