CNC Vertical Milling Machinist - Lead, Mid- and Senior-Level

We are seeking multiple experienced CNC Vertical Milling Machinists for Mid-Level, Senior, and Lead opportunities within a high-precision manufacturing environment.

These are hands-on machining positions focused on setting up and operating CNC and/or manual vertical milling machines to manufacture complex precision components. Candidates should have strong mechanical aptitude, blueprint reading skills, experience performing machine setups, and the ability to consistently produce parts within tight tolerances.

More experienced candidates may also be responsible for CNC programming, complex process development, first-article approval, advanced troubleshooting, mentoring, and technical leadership on the shop floor.

• Set up and operate CNC and/or manual vertical milling machines
• Install and align tooling, vises, fixtures, and work pieces
• Select appropriate cutting tools, speeds, feeds, and machining parameters
• Perform operations including milling, contouring, pocketing, drilling, tapping, boring, and profiling
• Establish tool offsets, work coordinates, and machining sequences
• Read and interpret blueprints, specifications, work instructions, and GD&T
• Make CNC program edits using G-code or conversational controls as applicable
• Inspect finished and in-process parts using precision measuring equipment
• Maintain close tolerances and required surface finishes
• Troubleshoot machining, tooling, setup, and material issues
• Make process adjustments to maintain quality, productivity, and efficiency
• Perform routine preventive maintenance and machine care
• Complete required travelers, inspection records, and production documentation
• Maintain a clean, safe, and organized work environment

• Independently run complex jobs from setup through completion
• Program, edit, and optimize CNC programs using G-code, conversational controls, or CAM software
• Develop machining strategies and sequences from print through production
• Select and optimize tooling to improve accuracy, cycle time, efficiency, and tool life
• Troubleshoot complex machining, fixturing, tooling, and process issues
• Validate setups and approve first-article parts prior to production
• Perform advanced in-process and final inspections
• Work with Engineering and Quality to resolve manufacturing and quality issues
• Mentor and train junior and mid-level machinists
• Provide technical guidance on machining methods, setups, tooling, blueprints, and GD&T
• Support daily production priorities and workflow
• Lead by example in safety, quality, productivity, and workmanship

• High school diploma or GED required; technical or vocational machining training preferred
• 3+ years of vertical milling experience
• Experience setting up and operating CNC and/or manual vertical milling machines
• Strong knowledge of machining principles, cutting tools, speeds, feeds, and work holding
• Ability to read and interpret blueprints and GD&T
• Experience setting tool offsets and work coordinates
• Ability to hold close tolerances and consistently produce quality parts
• Proficiency using micrometers, calipers, height gauges, bore gauges, indicators, and other precision measuring equipment
• Strong mechanical aptitude and troubleshooting skills
• Ability to work independently while maintaining productivity and quality standards
• Strong attention to detail and commitment to workplace safety

• CNC programming using G-code, conversational controls, and/or CAM software
• Experience with Haas, Mazak, Okuma, Fanuc, or similar CNC equipment and controls
• Complex CNC milling setups and process development
• Aerospace, medical, tool & die, job shop, or other high-precision manufacturing experience
• Low-volume/high-mix manufacturing experience
• ISO, AS9100, or similar quality-system experience
  
  Lean Manufacturing or continuous-improvement experience
• Previous mentoring, training, or hands-on leadership experience
