SALARY: $20/hour
HOURS: 15-20 hours per week
DURATION: Summer 2026 (flexible start and end dates, 8 weeks)
LOCATION: Hybrid (1-day/week in office in New Haven, CT)

About the Role
Are you curious about how social service organizations actually run behind the scenes? This paid summer internship offers hands-on experience supporting the Development team of a mission-driven social services organization.
The Development Intern will gain hands-on experience in donor engagement, grant research, partnership outreach, and fundraising strategy. This role is ideal for students interested in marketing, (nonprofit) management, fundraising, philanthropy, or community engagement.
You'll contribute to real relationship-building and fundraising initiatives that directly support mission impact.
What You'll Do
Donor Stewardship & Fundraising Support
- Write personalized thank-you cards to donors
- Support check processing and gift documentation
- Assist with grant prospect research
- Support grant and proposal writing
- Help create PowerPoint pitch decks for donor meetings
- Reach out to local New Haven businesses to promote the CT Collective and other local partnerships
- Support efforts to strengthen relationships with Yale and other local institutions
- Review and conceptualize an approach to engaging university youth groups in fundraising and awareness-building
- Assist in organizing office materials and working through a backlog of physical resources
- Must be able to lift and carry up to 20 lbs
- Experience in donor stewardship and nonprofit fundraising systems
- Exposure to grant writing and proposal development
- Skills in partnership outreach and institutional engagement
- Professional communication and relationship-building experience
- Insight into nonprofit revenue strategy
20 - 20 USD per hour (HQ)
