Travel RN - Operating Room - Cardiovascular​/CVOR

Position: Travel RN - Operating Room - Cardiovascular OR/CVOR
American Traveler is hiring an experienced RN for a CVOR position at a large Level I Trauma Center and Academic Medical Center, requiring at least 2 years of experience and the ability to scrub and circulate cardiac surgery independently.

Job Details

• Work setting is a large, short-term acute care hospital with 1,567 staffed beds at a Level I Trauma Center and Academic Medical Center,

• Assignment is in the Cardiovascular OR (CVOR) unit,

• Average patient ratio of 1:2,

• Schedule consists of a combination of 12-hour and 8-hour day shifts (7:00 AM-7:00 PM and 7:00 AM-3:30 PM or 10:45 AM-7:15 PM); alternative schedules of 4x10s or 3x12s may be considered,

• On-call is required: two 24-hour weekend calls per 6-week block, plus two weekday on-call shifts per week (either 7:00 PM-11:00 PM or 7:00 PM-7:00 AM), with one day per week available to stay late,

• Floating within scope may be required to meet facility needs,

• Charting is performed in Epic,

• Scrubs are provided by the facility,

Job Requirements

• Active CT or compact RN license required prior to start date; pending licensure may be accepted during the application process,

• Current certifications required: BLS and ACLS,

• Minimum of 2 years of CVOR experience required,

• Must be able to scrub cardiac surgery independently and circulate,

• Scrubbing is preferred in addition to circulating,

• Prior experience at a large trauma center is required,

• Clean nursing license with no prior disciplinary actions,

• One professional reference required for consideration,

• Candidates must reside more than 75 miles from the facility to be eligible for travel rates; local candidates are not accepted for this position,

• Former permanent staff of the facility must have been separated for at least 2 years before being considered as a traveler,

• RTO of 7 days or fewer may be auto-approved; requests exceeding 7 days require facility approval,

• Block scheduling cannot be accommodated,

• Flu vaccination is required; declinations are not accepted,

• COVID-19 vaccination exemptions are accepted for religious or medical reasons only,

• Travelers are expected to participate in natural disaster or emergency response activities as needed,
