Job Description
American Traveler is hiring a CT or compact licensed RN for a Cardiac ICU nights position at a large Level I Trauma Center, requiring critical care experience with PA catheters and a commitment to 4x12-hour night shifts.
Responsibilities- Cardiac ICU unit within a large, short-term acute care hospital with over 1,500 staffed beds
- Level I Trauma Center and academic medical center environment
- Patient population requires critical care management, including PA catheter monitoring
- Average patient ratio of 1:2 on days, nights, and weekends
- Night shift schedule: 4x12-hour shifts, 19:00–07:00
- Floating required to ICU and PCU
- No on-call required
- Charting via Epic EMR
- Parking is available at a cost of approximately $125/month
- First-time travelers are welcome to apply
- Former permanent staff must have been separated for at least 2 years before being considered as a traveler
- Candidates must reside more than 75 miles from the facility; local candidates are not accepted for this position
- Up to 7 days of RTO may be auto-approved by the facility
- Travelers are expected to participate in natural disaster or emergency response activities as needed
- Active CT or compact RN license required
- Current certifications required: BLS, ACLS, and NIHSS
- Minimum 1.5 years of ICU experience required if coming from a Level I Trauma Center or large hospital
- Critical care experience with PA catheters required
- Trauma center experience at a large facility required
- No prior disciplinary actions on nursing license
- Flu vaccine required; declinations are not accepted
- COVID vaccine required; religious or medical exemptions accepted
