Travel RN - Operating Room - Cardiovascular​/CVOR

Position: Travel RN - Operating Room - Cardiovascular OR/CVOR
American Traveler is hiring an experienced RN for a CVOR position at a large Level I Trauma Center and academic medical center, requiring the ability to independently scrub and circulate for cardiac surgery.

Job Details

• Work in the CVOR of a large, short-term acute care Level I Trauma Center and academic medical center with 1,500+ staffed beds,

• Schedule is 36 hrs/week (3x12s) or 40 hrs/week (2x12s and 2x8s); shifts run 7:00a-3:30p or 10:45a-7:15p; 4x10 schedules are not available,

• Average patient ratio of 1:2,

• On-call is required: 2 calls per M-F week (either 7p-11p or 7p-7a shifts), plus 1 day per week available to stay late,

• Weekend requirement: two 24-hour on-call shifts per schedule block,

• Floating within scope to meet facility needs is required,

• Block scheduling is not available,

• Charting is done in Epic,

• Scrubs are provided by the facility,

• Parking is available at a cost of $125/month,

Job Requirements

• Active CT or Compact RN license required; pending license accepted provided active licensure is obtained prior to start date,

• Current certifications required: BLS and ACLS,

• Minimum 2 years of CVOR experience required,

• Must be able to independently scrub cardiac surgery and circulate,

• Trauma Center experience at a large facility is required,

• No prior disciplinary actions or priors on nursing license,

• Flu vaccination required; declinations are not accepted,

• COVID vaccination required; religious and medical exemptions are accepted,

Additional Information

• Candidates must reside more than 75 miles from the facility to be eligible for travel rates; local candidates are not accepted for this position,

• Former permanent employees of this health system must have been separated for at least 2 years before being considered as a traveler,

• RTO of up to 7 days can be auto-approved; RTO exceeding 7 days requires facility approval,

• Travelers are expected to participate in natural disaster or other emergency response activities as needed,
