American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a CVICU position at a large Level I Trauma Center and Academic Medical Center, requiring a minimum of 3 years of cardiac ICU experience and Swan‑Ganz monitoring proficiency.
Requirements- Active CT or compact RN license required (pending license accepted)
- Current certifications required: BLS, ACLS, and NIH Stroke Scale (NIHSS)
- Minimum 3 years of cardiac ICU experience required
- Proficiency with Swan‑Ganz monitoring required
- Experience at a large trauma center required
- Clean nursing license with no prior disciplinary actions
- 1 professional reference required for consideration
- Night shift schedule: 3x12‑hour shifts, 19:00–07:00
- CVICU unit in a large, short‑term acute care hospital with 1,567 staffed beds
- High‑acuity cardiac ICU patient population requiring experienced, knowledgeable nurses
- Average patient ratio of 1:2 on both day and night shifts
- Swan‑Ganz hemodynamic monitoring is regularly used in this unit
- Charting via Epic EMR
- Required to work every other weekend
- Floating to other Heart and Vascular Center (HVC) ICUs within scope may be required
- No on‑call requirements
- 13‑week contract
- First‑time travelers are welcome to apply, provided they have cardiothoracic ICU and/or critical care experience
- Candidates must reside more than 75 miles from the facility to be eligible for the travel pay rate
- Former permanent staff must have been separated for at least 2 years before being considered as a traveler
- RTO of 7 days or fewer may be approved; requests exceeding 7 days require additional facility approval
- Flu vaccination is required; declinations are not accepted
- COVID vaccination is required; religious and medical exemptions are accepted
- Travelers are expected to participate in natural disaster or emergency response activities as needed
- Block scheduling is not available for this position
- Parking is available at a cost of $125/month
