American Traveler is hiring an experienced RN for a Med/Surg Tele position at a Level I Trauma Center academic medical center, requiring 2 years of experience and a compact or CT RN license.

• Work in the MS/Tele unit of a Level I Trauma Center, academic medical teaching hospital
• Patient ratios average 1:4-5
• Night shift schedule, 3x12 hours, 7:00 PM to 7:00 AM
• Required to work every other weekend
• No on-call responsibilities
• Floating required within scope to meet facility needs
• Uses Epic charting system
• Scrub color required:
  Royal blue

• Active RN license (CT or Compact) required prior to start date
• Current certifications:
  Basic Life Support (BLS); NIH Stroke Scale (NIHSS) preferred
• Minimum 2 years of RN experience required in specialty
• Epic charting system experience required
• Teaching hospital experience required
• Level I Trauma Center experience at a large facility required
• 1 professional reference required for consideration

• Provide comprehensive Med/Surg Tele nursing care including respiratory, GI, GU/renal, neuro, and cardiac monitoring support
• Skills include chest tube management, tracheostomy care, PICC line management, blood product administration, wound care/wound vac, and IV insulin protocols
• Cardiac monitoring responsibilities include dysrhythmia interpretation and telemetry monitoring on the unit
• Participation in Rapid Response/Code teams as needed
• Travelers are expected to participate in natural disaster or emergency response activities as required by the facility
• Local candidates not accepted; candidates residing within 75 miles of the hospital are considered local
• Former staff must have been separated from the facility for at least 2 years to be eligible as a traveler
• Requests for RTO greater than 7 days require additional approval
• First-time travelers are welcome to apply
• Flu vaccine required with no declinations accepted
• COVID vaccine and booster required, with religious or medical exemptions only
