American Traveler is hiring an experienced RN for a Med/Surg Tele position at a Level I Trauma Center requiring at least 2 years of experience and a CT or compact RN license.

• Work in the Med/Surg Tele unit of a Level I Trauma Center, academic medical center
• Patient ratios average 1:4-5
• Night shift schedule, 3x12 hour shifts (7:00 PM - 7:00 AM)
• Required to work every other weekend
• No on-call responsibilities
• Floating within scope required to meet facility needs
• Uses Epic charting system

• Active RN license, CT or compact required prior to start date (pending license accepted)
• Current certifications: BLS required, NIHSS preferred
• Minimum 2 years of RN experience required (1.5 years considered with Level I Trauma or travel experience)
• Teaching hospital experience required
• Epic charting system experience required
• 1 professional reference required
• Flu vaccine required with no declinations accepted
• COVID vaccine and booster required, with only religious/medical exemptions accepted

• Provide nursing care across Med/Surg, Telemetry, and Orthopedic patient populations
• Skilled in respiratory care including BiPAP/CPAP management, tracheostomy care, and non-invasive airway management
• Experience with IV therapy, PICC line management, and blood product administration preferred
• Knowledge of GI, GU/renal, and neurological/psychiatric conditions including CVA, TBI, and substance withdrawal
• Proficient in cardiac monitoring, dysrhythmia interpretation, and telemetry unit monitoring
• Familiarity with wound care/wound vac and IV insulin protocols
• Required to participate in natural disaster or emergency response activities as needed
• Royal blue scrub color required
• RTO requests greater than 7 days require additional approval
• Former staff must have been separated from the facility for at least 2 years to be eligible as a traveler
• Local candidates not accepted; must reside more than 75 miles from the hospital
