Responsibilities- Apply the ANA Scope and Standards of Practice (2015) to guide nursing care, including assessment, diagnosis, outcome identification, planning, implementation, evaluation, coordination, health teaching, and health promotion.
- Engage in professional performance activities per the ANA Standards of Professional Performance (2015), including ethics, culturally congruent practice, communication, collaboration, leadership, education, evidence‑based practice, quality of practice evaluation, resource utilization, and environmental health.
Education
Graduation from an accredited nursing school. BSN preferred. All newly hired RNs must have current BCLS certification or obtain it within one month of hire.
Experience
One year of acute RN experience.
Licensure
Licensed and currently registered in the State of Connecticut. Clinical specialty certification highly encouraged.
Physical Demand
Requires prolonged standing; walking; use of sight, hearing, and touch. May be exposed to infectious diseases and to physical, mental, and emotional illness, end‑of‑life conditions, death, and moderate stress. Standing/walking for more than half the day, frequent bending, reaching, pushing, pulling, twisting, and lifting; able to assist with patients ranging from 5 to 300 pounds.
