American Traveler is hiring a Registered Nurse for a NICU position requiring 2 years of Level III NICU experience and a CT or compact RN license.
Details- Level I Trauma Center, academic medical center setting with 1,567 staffed beds
- Neonatal ICU unit with patient ratios averaging 1:2-4
- Day (3x12, 7:00-19:00) and Night (3x12, 19:00-7:00) shift options, scheduled in 6-week blocks
- Staff generally do not switch between day and night shifts within the same week, except during orientation
- Every other weekend required
- No on-call requirements
- Floating within scope required to meet facility needs
- Uses Epic charting system
- Active CT or compact RN license required prior to start date
- Current BLS and NRP certifications required
- Minimum 2 years of Level III NICU experience required
- Experience with IVs, central lines, OG/NG feeds, and phlebotomy required
- Trauma Center experience at a large facility required
- 1 professional reference required
- Flu vaccine required with no declinations accepted
- COVID vaccine and booster required, with religious/medical exemptions only accepted
- Complete a pass/fail medication competency assessment during unit orientation covering dosage calculations, the Five Rights of Medication Administration, and related skills
- Responsibilities include starting and maintaining IVs, central/implanted line care, and placement/management of oral, nasogastric, and nasojejunal tubes
- Travelers are obligated to participate in natural disaster or other emergency response activities as needed
- RTO requests greater than 7 days require additional approval
- Local candidates are not accepted if within 75 miles of the hospital
- Returning staff must have been separated from permanent employment for at least 2 years to be considered as a traveler
- First-time travelers are accepted
