Description

American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for an Ambulatory Care oncology clinic role requiring a CT or compact RN license and chemotherapy certification.

Details
  • Outpatient multispecialty clinic setting serving Breast Oncology, Breast Surgery, and Plastic Surgery patients
  • Day shift schedule, 4x10-hour shifts from 7:30 AM to 4:00 PM
  • Duties include telephone triage, in-basket management, assisting providers during clinic visits, and new/return patient visits
  • Provides pre-op/post-op teaching and chemotherapy teaching
  • Uses Epic charting system
Requirements
  • Active CT or compact RN license required
  • Minimum 2 years of RN experience within the specialty (1.5 years considered for candidates with Level I trauma or travel experience)
  • Current BLS and Chemo certification (ONS/ONCC) required
  • Prior travel nursing experience required
  • Outpatient clinic and telephone triage experience required
  • Epic charting experience required
  • Teaching hospital experience preferred
  • Skilled in IV therapy/infusions, accessing and managing ports, and starting/maintaining IVs
  • Experience managing chemotherapy symptoms, oncologic emergencies, and biotherapy side effects preferred
  • Experience caring for breast cancer patients preferred
  • 1 professional reference required
Additional Information
  • Assist providers during new and return patient visits, including pre-op/post-op and chemotherapy teaching
  • Manage oral chemotherapy administration and body fluid handling post-chemotherapy
  • Provide patient/family education and psychosocial support
  • Recognize and communicate abnormal lab values and manage pain/medication tolerance assessments
  • Level I Trauma Center and academic medical center environment with 1,567 staffed beds
  • Royal blue scrubs required
  • Flu vaccine required with no declinations accepted; COVID vaccine/booster exemption only for religious or medical reasons
  • Local candidates not accepted unless residing outside a 75-mile radius of the hospital
  • Returning staff must have been separated from the facility for at least 2 years to be considered as a traveler
  • Up to 7 days of RTO can be auto-approved
  • First-time travelers are not typically considered given the travel experience requirement
