American Traveler is hiring an experienced ICU RN for a Level I Trauma Center position requiring a CT or compact RN license and prior SICU experience.
Details- Surgical ICU setting within a Level I Trauma Center, academic medical center
- Night shift, 3x12 hours (7:00 PM to 7:00 AM)
- Every other weekend required
- No on-call requirements
- Floating to step-down unit required as needed
- 1:3 patient ratio
- Epic charting system required
- No block scheduling accommodations
- Active CT or compact RN license required prior to start date
- Minimum 2 years of ICU experience required (1.5 years considered for Level I Trauma or travel experience)
- BLS, ACLS, and NIHSS certifications required
- Epic charting experience required
- Teaching hospital experience required
- Level I or Level II Trauma Center experience preferred
- Community hospital experience preferred
- Previous charge nurse experience preferred
- Travel nursing experience required
- Skilled in airway management, IV therapy, arterial and central line management
- Experience managing patients with multisystem organ dysfunction/failure
- Proficient in ventilator care and ABG interpretation
- Experience titrating vasoactive drips and continuous IV sedation
- Skilled in cardiac monitoring, dysrhythmia interpretation, and emergency response
- Knowledge of isolation precautions and PPE use
- One professional reference required
- Provide direct patient care in a high-acuity Surgical ICU setting
- Support multisystem organ dysfunction and failure management
- Participate in natural disaster or emergency response activities as needed
- Flu vaccine required with no declinations accepted
- COVID vaccine and booster required, with religious or medical exemptions only
- First-time travelers accepted
- Local candidates not accepted within 75 miles of the facility
- RTO requests greater than 7 days require additional approval
- Returning staff must have a 2-year gap before being eligible as a traveler
