American Traveler is hiring an RN for an Oncology Clinic practice nurse role requiring ONS certification and prior oncology experience.
Details- Outpatient oncology clinic setting within a large academic medical center
- Practice nurse role with no infusion duties at this clinic
- Patients seen before, during, and after treatments, including follow-up, pre-op, and post-op visits
- Duties include telephone triage, inbasket management, and assisting providers during clinic visits
- Day shift schedule, 4x10 hour shifts from 7:30 AM to 5:00 PM
- May float between specialties within scope
- No weekend requirements
- Uses Epic charting system
- Active CT or Compact RN license required prior to start date
- BLS certification required
- ONS/ONCC certification required
- Chemotherapy certification (ONS/ONCC) preferred
- Minimum 2 years of RN experience required, though 1.5 years may be considered with Level I trauma or travel experience
- Prior ambulatory and phone triage experience required
- Oncology nursing experience required
- Travel nursing experience required
- Trauma Level I experience required for consideration
- Assist providers with oncology patient care across outpatient visits
- Recognize and manage symptoms of treatment side effects, oncologic emergencies, and psychosocial care needs
- Care for patients receiving chemotherapy, biotherapy, and related medications
- Manage central lines, ports, and IV therapy as needed
- Scrub color required: royal blue
- Flu vaccine required with no declinations accepted
- COVID vaccine and booster required, with religious or medical exemptions only
- Local candidates not accepted; must reside more than 75 miles from the facility
- Previous perm staff must be separated for at least 2 years to be eligible as a traveler
- RTO requests greater than 7 days require additional approval
- First-time travelers are not accepted for this role
