American Traveler is hiring an experienced RN for a Neuro ICU night shift position at a Level I Trauma Center requiring compact CT license and neuro ICU experience.
Details- Neuro Intensive Care Unit setting within a Short Term Acute Care Level I Trauma Center
- Average patient ratio of 1:2 on both days and nights
- Night shift schedule with 4x12 hour shifts from 19:00-7:00
- Every other weekend required
- Floating within scope required to meet facility needs
- No on-call responsibilities
- Uses Epic charting system
- Active or pending CT RN license (Compact accepted)
- Minimum 2-3 years of RN experience required, with consideration for 1.5 years if Level I Trauma or travel experience is present
- Neuro ICU experience required
- Prior travel experience required
- Current certifications: BLS, ACLS, and NIHSS
- Trauma Level I and Level II experience preferred
- Experience with EVD, ICP monitoring, lumbar drains, post-craniotomy and post-neurosurgery care, and traumatic brain/spinal cord injury management
- Experience with ventilator management, arterial line management, and titrating vasoactive drips preferred
- 1 professional reference required
- Provide critical care nursing to complex neurological patients including CVA, TBI, and post-neurosurgical cases
- Located at a large academic Level I Trauma Center
- RTO requests greater than 7 days require additional approval
- Travelers may be asked to participate in natural disaster or emergency response activities as needed
- Flu vaccination required with no declinations accepted
- COVID vaccination and booster required except for approved religious or medical exemptions
- First-time travelers accepted
- Local candidates within 75 miles of the facility are not accepted
- Previous perm staff must have been separated for at least 2 years to return as a traveler
