American Traveler is hiring a Medical ICU RN for a night shift travel position at a Level I Trauma Center, requiring 2 years of ICU experience and an active or compact CT RN license.
Details- MICU unit within a Level I Trauma Center, Academic Medical Center
- Primarily SDU assignments with a 3:1 ratio, with occasional ICU coverage as needed
- Night shift, 3x12 hour shifts (7:00 PM-7:00 AM)
- Average patient ratio of 1:3 across days, nights, and weekends
- Every other weekend coverage required
- No on-call requirements
- Floating required to PCU, other ICUs, and SRC campus as needed
- Uses Epic EMR
- Active CT RN license (Standard or Compact) required, or proof of application prior to submission
- Current BLS and ACLS certification required; NIHSS preferred
- Minimum 2 years of recent ICU experience required
- Skilled in IV therapy, arterial line management, and central line care/management
- Experience with ventilated patients and interpretation of ABGs required
- Experience with continuous IV sedation and cardiac monitoring/emergency response
- Skilled in interpretation and management of dysrhythmias
- Experience managing patients with multisystem organ dysfunction/failure
- Proficient in isolation precautions and PPE use
- 1 professional reference required
- Flu vaccine required with no declinations accepted
- COVID vaccine and booster required, with medical/religious exemptions only
- Provide critical care nursing to medically complex ICU patients including ventilator management and hemodynamic monitoring
- Large academic medical center setting with 1,000+ staffed beds
- Trauma Center experience at a large facility strongly preferred
- Travelers may be required to participate in natural disaster or emergency response activities
- First-time travelers will be considered
- Previous perm staff must be separated from the facility for at least 2 years to be eligible as a traveler
- Up to 7 days of RTO can be auto-approved
- Local candidates not accepted; must reside more than 75 miles from the hospital
