American Traveler is hiring an experienced RN for a Surgical ICU position at a Level I Trauma Center, requiring a CT or compact RN license and prior ICU experience.
Details- Surgical Intensive Care Unit setting within a Level I Trauma Center academic medical center
- Night shift, 4x12 hour shifts (7:00 PM - 7:00 AM)
- Every other weekend required
- Floating to step-down unit as needed within scope
- No on-call requirements
- Uses Epic charting system
- Cares for patients with multisystem organ dysfunction/failure requiring airway management and IV drip titration
- Active CT or compact RN license required prior to start date
- Current certifications: BLS, ACLS, and NIHSS
- Minimum 2 years of recent SICU experience required
- Epic charting experience required
- Trauma Level I and teaching hospital experience preferred
- Skilled in arterial line management, central line care, PICC line management, and blood product administration
- Experience with ventilator management, ABG interpretation, and respiratory/thoracic care
- Proficient in cardiac monitoring, dysrhythmia management, and 12-lead EKG acquisition
- Experience with continuous IV sedation and vasoactive drip titration
- One professional reference required
- Provide direct care to critically ill surgical ICU patients including airway and hemodynamic management
- Participate in emergency response activities as needed, including natural disaster support
- Flu vaccine required with no declinations accepted
- COVID vaccine and booster required with only religious or medical exemptions accepted
- RTO requests up to 7 days can be auto-approved; anything beyond requires additional approval
- Local candidates within 75 miles of the facility are not accepted
- Previous staff must have a 2-year gap since separation to return as a travel clinician
