American Traveler is hiring an experienced ICU RN for a float pool position requiring float coverage across multiple ICU specialties and step-down units at a Level I Trauma Center.

• ICU Float Pool position within a Level I Trauma Center, Academic Medical Center
• Floats between two campuses located two blocks apart, sharing a parking lot with shuttle service available
• Floats to 5 ICU specialties and step-down units, including a pulmonary step-down unit with 1:3 ratios
• Day shift schedule, 3x12 or 4x12 hour shifts (7:00-19:00)
• Every other weekend requirement
• No on-call requirements
• Uses Epic charting system

• Active CT or compact RN license required prior to start date
• Minimum 2 years of ICU experience required (1.5 years considered with Level I Trauma or travel experience)
• Required certifications: BLS, ACLS, NIHSS
• TNCC certification preferred
• Level I Trauma Center experience at a large facility required
• Skills required:
  
  IV therapy, arterial line management, central line care, ventilator patient care, continuous IV sedation, cardiac monitoring, dysrhythmia interpretation and management, and Swan Ganz/pulmonary artery line monitoring
• EVD (external ventricular drain) experience preferred
• 1 professional reference required

• Provide direct ICU-level nursing care across multiple specialty units and step-down settings as needed
• Must be willing to participate in natural disaster or emergency response activities as required by the facility
• Flu vaccine required with no declinations accepted
• COVID vaccine and booster required, with medical or religious exemptions only
• RTO requests greater than 7 days require additional approval
• Local candidates not accepted; must reside outside a 75-mile radius of the facility
• Former staff must have been separated from the health system for at least 2 years to be eligible as a traveler
• First-time travelers are welcome to apply
