American Traveler is hiring an RN for an Emergency Department Observation Unit, requiring TNCC, ACLS, and BLS certifications along with Level I Trauma Center experience.
Details- 16-bed ED Observation Unit, a separate location from the Main ED providing non-admitted observation level of care
- Average patient ratio of 1:6 for both day and night shifts
- Day shift schedule (3x12 hours), 7:00 AM to 7:00 PM
- Every other weekend required
- No on-call responsibilities
- Floating required within scope to meet facility needs
- Open to block scheduling
- Uses Epic charting system
- Active or pending CT state or compact RN license accepted
- Required certifications: TNCC, ACLS, and BLS
- Minimum 1.5-2 years of ED experience preferred, with consideration for 1.5 years from a similar hospital setting
- Level I Trauma Center experience required at a large facility
- Flu vaccine required with no declinations accepted
- COVID vaccine and booster required, with exemptions only for religious or medical reasons
- Provide emergency nursing care within a dedicated ED Observation Unit
- May be considered for other campus EDs after successful completion of initial contract if not initially meeting requirements for the main ED
- Travelers are expected to participate in natural disaster or emergency response activities as needed
- RTO requests greater than 7 days require manager approval
- Must reside outside a 75-mile radius to be eligible unless applying as a local candidate
- Previous perm staff must have a 2-year gap in employment to be considered as a travel candidate
- First-time travelers are not accepted for this position
