American Traveler is hiring an experienced RN for a Neuro ICU position at a Level I Trauma Center requiring at least 2 years of Neuro ICU experience and a CT or compact RN license.
Details- Neuro Intensive Care Unit setting within a Level I Trauma Center, Academic Medical Center
- Average patient ratios of 1:2 on both days and nights
- Night shift schedule, 3x12-hour shifts from 19:00-7:00
- Every other weekend required
- Floating within scope required to meet facility needs
- No on-call requirements
- Uses Epic charting system
- Active or pending CT RN license (Standard or Compact)
- Current certifications: BLS, ACLS, and NIHSS
- Minimum 2 years of Neuro ICU experience required
- Prior travel nursing experience required
- Level I or Level II Trauma Center experience preferred
- 1 professional reference required
- Skilled in management of ventilated, sedated, and hemodynamically unstable patients
- Experience with EVD, ICP monitoring, hypothermia protocol, and post-neurosurgical care
- Proficiency in CRRT/CVVHD, arterial line management, and titration of vasoactive drips
- Experience with CVA/stroke management and traumatic brain injury care
- Provide critical care nursing to complex neurological and neurosurgical patients
- Manage patients requiring advanced respiratory, cardiovascular, and neurological interventions
- Participate in emergency response activities, including natural disaster protocols
- Flu vaccine required with no declinations accepted
- COVID vaccine and booster required, with medical or religious exemptions only
- RTO requests greater than 7 days require additional approval
- Candidates must not be local, defined as living within 75 miles of the facility
- Former staff must have been separated from the health system for at least 2 years to be considered as a traveler
- First-time travelers are accepted for this role
