American Traveler is hiring an experienced ICU RN for a night shift position at a Level I Trauma Center, requiring 2 years of ICU experience and a CT or compact RN license.
Details- Medical ICU setting within a Level I Trauma Center, short term acute care hospital
- Night shift schedule, 3x12-hour shifts from 19:00 to 7:00
- No on-call responsibilities
- Float required to PCU, other ICUs, and other campus locations as needed
- Every other weekend coverage required
- Epic charting system used
- Active CT or compact RN license required
- Current BLS and ACLS certifications required; NIHSS preferred
- Minimum 2 years of ICU experience required
- Epic charting experience required
- Teaching hospital experience preferred
- Experience with arterial line management, IV therapy, and blood product administration
- Skilled in care of ventilated patients, BiPAP/CPAP management, and ETT/NT suctioning
- Experience interpreting ABGs and managing respiratory failure, pulmonary edema, and pulmonary embolism
- Proficient in cardiac monitoring, dysrhythmia interpretation and management
- Experience with central venous pressure monitoring and titration of vasoactive drips
- Skilled in continuous IV sedation and emergency medication administration
- Experience managing patients with multisystem organ dysfunction/failure
- Knowledge of IV insulin protocols
- 1 professional reference required
- Large trauma center experience required for consideration at this facility
- Provide direct patient care in a high-acuity Medical ICU environment
- Participate in infection prevention practices and proper use of isolation precautions/PPE
- Must be prepared to assist with natural disaster or emergency response activities as needed
- Flu vaccine required with no declinations accepted
- COVID vaccine and booster required, with religious or medical exemptions only
- First-time travelers will be considered
- Former permanent staff must have been separated from the facility for at least 2 years to be eligible as a traveler
- Local candidates are not accepted; candidates within 75 miles of the facility are considered local
- Up to 7 days of requested time off can be auto-approved
