American Traveler is hiring an experienced RN for a Cardiovascular ICU position requiring CT or compact RN license and proficiency with Swan-Ganz monitoring.
Details- Work in a high acuity Cardiovascular ICU (CVICU) at a Level I Trauma Center academic medical center
- Night shift schedule, 4x12 hours (19:00-7:00)
- Average patient ratio of 1:2 for both days and nights
- Every other weekend required
- No on-call requirements
- Will float to other high volume cardiac (HVC) ICUs within scope
- Uses Epic charting system
- Active CT or compact RN license required (pending license accepted)
- Minimum 3 years of Cardiac ICU experience required
- Previous charge nurse experience required
- Required certifications: ACLS, BLS, NIHSS (CCRN preferred)
- Must be proficient with Swan-Ganz/pulmonary artery line monitoring
- Experience with central line care, arterial line management, and ventilator management required
- Experience with cardiac drip titration and vasoactive drip management required
- Epic charting system experience required
- Trauma Level I experience preferred
- 1 professional reference required
- Flu vaccine required with no declinations accepted
- COVID vaccine and booster required (religious/medical exemptions only)
- Provide high acuity nursing care to cardiovascular ICU patients including post cardiac surgery, CABG, TAVR, and valve repair/replacement cases
- Manage complex cardiac interventions including pre/post cardiac catheterization and sheath removal
- Perform cardiac monitoring, dysrhythmia interpretation and management, and 12-lead EKG/ECG acquisition
- Care for ventilated patients including chest tube assistance, BiPAP/CPAP management, and tracheostomy care
- First-time travelers accepted with cardiothoracic ICU experience and/or critical care experience
- RTO greater than 7 days requires facility approval
- Local candidates not accepted if within 75 miles of hospital site
- Previous staff must be separated from facility for 2 years before returning as a traveler
