Description:
The Registered Nurse will primarily have step-down unit assignments.
The average patient ratio will be 3:1 during the day.
There may be occasional assignments in the intensive care unit if needed.
Floating to other units may be required as necessary.
This role requires providing care for patients with high acuity conditions such as acute respiratory failure, sepsis, and other critical diagnoses.
The nurse will participate in interdisciplinary support.
The workload may include patients awaiting transfer, which may alter the patient ratio depending on circumstances.
Two charge nurses are present for the full unit.
Collaboration with PCAs will be expected, as they typically handle 10-14 patients each.
This nursing position demands strong critical thinking skills and the ability to manage complex medical situations.
