Position Summary
A precision manufacturing organization is seeking a detail-oriented and experienced CMM Programmer to support quality assurance operations. This role is responsible for programming, operating, and maintaining Coordinate Measuring Machine (CMM) equipment to ensure accurate inspection of components. The position plays a key role in maintaining product quality, supporting production schedules, and driving continuous improvement in inspection processes.
Compensation: $24 - 48 / hour (commensurate with experience)
Key ResponsibilitiesDevelop, modify, and troubleshoot CMM programs to verify product conformity
Set up and operate CMM equipment based on engineering drawings and specifications
Perform first article, in-process, and final inspections
Analyze measurement data and communicate findings to engineering and production teams
Maintain and calibrate inspection equipment to ensure accuracy and performance
Collaborate with manufacturing and engineering teams to resolve inspection issues
Generate inspection reports and maintain quality documentation
Improve CMM programming processes to enhance efficiency and accuracy
Ensure compliance with industry standards and internal quality procedures
Train and mentor other team members on CMM operation and inspection methods
Perform dimensional inspections using precision tools (micrometers, calipers, gauges, etc.)
Identify and document nonconformances and support corrective actions
Prepare documentation for audits, customer inspections, and quality records
Maintain a clean and safe work environment and follow safety protocols
Support continuous improvement initiatives such as 5S
Required
Minimum 3 years of experience operating and programming CMM equipment
Proficiency in CMM programming software (e.g., PC-DMIS or similar)
Strong understanding of Geometric Dimensioning & Tolerancing (GD&T)
Ability to read and interpret complex engineering drawings and blueprints
Strong mathematical and analytical skills
Experience with Statistical Process Control (SPC)
Strong communication and organizational skills
Experience in aerospace or precision manufacturing environments
Familiarity with ISO 9001 / AS9100 quality systems
Experience mentoring or training team members
Knowledge of inspection documentation and audit preparation processes
Ability to stand, sit, bend, and reach for extended periods
Ability to lift up to 50 lbs
Work performed in a manufacturing environment
This role is based in a production and quality inspection environment, requiring collaboration with cross-functional teams and adherence to safety and quality standards.
