- Design and implement in vitro pharmacology readouts using cellular biochemical, functional, and image-based endpoints
- Use ELISA/MSD, quantitative WB, high-content imaging, and bioluminescence-based assay formats
- Provide technical and scientific leadership for immuno-histochemical endpoints in CNS and other tissues
- Contribute to a collaborative high-content imaging working group focused on best practices and robust assay-design solutions
- Generate data promptly to support program decision-making and communicate results to teams and senior leadership
- Set and maintain high standards for data analysis and quality control
- Lead internal discussions on innovative approaches to data interrogation
- Interface with automated biology to identify automation-amendable assay strategies and transfer automation-ready assays
- Collaborate across multiple Neuroscience project teams in a matrixed environment
- Develop and train other scientists across the research organization
- Demonstrated ability to balance speed with rigor in a fast-paced, dynamic drug discovery environment
- Aptitude for systematic troubleshooting of biological assay systems
- Capacity and enthusiasm to grow into a leader of a small team of scientists
- Must be legally authorized to work in the US without employer sponsorship now or at any time in the future
- Ability, with or without accommodation, to lift/carry 15/30 pounds unassisted/assisted
- Comfortable working in a controlled environment with and around biological, infectious, and hazardous materials
- Ability to gown/degown PPE
- Ability to use a computer and communicate via phone, video, and electronic messaging
- Ability to engage in problem solving, analysis, and dialogue
- Ability to collaborate with others and maintain general availability during standard business hours
- B.S. / M.S. with 12+ years, or Ph.D. with 2–5 years, of imaging, cellular and molecular biology, pharmacology, biochemistry, assay development, and biomolecular screening experience
- Neuroscience background with pharma/biotech experience preferred
- High-content imaging and histo-chemistry experience strongly preferred
Demonstrates expertise in in vitro pharmacology, assay development, and high-content imaging, with a strong emphasis on data analysis and quality control. Proven ability to lead teams and collaborate effectively in a dynamic drug discovery environment.
