Overview
Eastern Industrial Automation is a well-established international distributor of mechanical, automation, pneumatic, and hydraulic products, offering a broad offering of engineering services and system design solutions.
We are currently seeking a Sales Engineer / Account Manager in Southern Connecticut to generate new sales opportunities while developing long-term professional relationships with existing and new prospective customers. The ideal candidate will possess a strong technical sales background, experience working with end-user customers, and be comfortable working in the field to solve problems and create solutions with the support of our products and services.
Base Salary Range $70,000 - $90,000 based on experience plus uncapped commission / bonus potential. Position includes company car or car allowance, cell phone, laptop, and outstanding benefits package.

The sales territory for this role includes an established customer base in Southern Connecticut.
Essential Functions- Develop and maintain positive and professional relationships with new and existing customers.
- Interact with customers via phone, email and in person; respond and provide solutions to customers promptly.
- Regularly and consistently visit customers and prospective customers throughout the territory.
- Develop new markets and achieve growth objectives.
- Provide customer support to include quotations, technical research, literature requests, manufacturer interaction, proposals, and contacting suppliers for information.
- Collaborate with internal customers to assist with project solutions to meet customer needs.
- Interact with manufacturing partners and cultivate and sustain positive, professional relationships.
- Accurately report activities and expenses in a timely manner.
- Assist with sales forecasting and long-range planning.
- Solid work history and background in B2B sales in the industrial sector.
- High School Diploma Required. Additional training, certifications, education a plus.
- Willingness to travel daily by car within sales territory.
- Valid driver’s license and clean driving record.
- Previous experience in business-to-business (B2B) sales.
- Excellent negotiation skills and problem-solving skills.
- Knowledge of mechanical / electrical equipment and parts – bearings, motors, gear boxes, pulleys, etc.
- Willingness and ability to quickly learn our product line.
- Strong computer skills – CRM, ERP, MS Office products.
- Excellent multi-tasking, organizational and communication skills.
- Desire to work within a team with a cooperative and positive attitude.
