The Corporate R&D Biology department is looking for a Project Manager Analytical-Biochemistry R&D Bio (H/F) in a permanent position based in Carros.

Reporting to the Head of R&D Analytical Biology, within the Corporate R&D Biology department, you will operate in support of the development and industrialization of biological products with the main missions of developing and transferring analytical tools and methods to characterize and quantify the active substances of future products.

Your Mission?
  • Participate in the development of analytical methods and tools applied to the biochemical characterization of active substances and finished biological products (Metabolites, Proteins, VLP, antibodies or others).
  • Participate in the organization of schedules and follow the progress of activities in liaison with the unit manager.
  • Conduct scientific surveillance of new analytical tools and new methodologies in the field of analytical biochemistry.
  • Represent if necessary in project group the analytical development unit.
  • Be a force of proposal and establish a network of external experts.
  • Participate in the validations of methods and in the analytical transfers between laboratories in compliance with Virbac guidelines.
  • Exchange with partners from other departments (process, formulation, QC…).
  • Identify and manage if necessary the administrative and scientific relationship with specialized biochemists (CRO).
  • Contribute to the construction of the strategy and the analytical grid of future products.
  • Contribute to continuous improvement, maintenance and respect of BPL/BPF and HSE rules in the laboratory.

This position is part of a cross-functional working mode and in close collaboration with the other heads of the biological product development service (Process, Formulation…) as well as functionally distinct organizations within Virbac such as the Analytical Chemistry Laboratory, AQ, CQ, Procurement.

The quality of the cross-functional collaboration relationships that you will establish with its different trades and more globally within the company and with the subcontractors partners, in France and internationally, will be decisive for your success in the function.

Your profile?

With a higher education in Biotechnology, Biology or Biochemistry (Master, Engineer) or a highly experienced technician, you have a successful experience of 5 to 10 years minimum in biochemical characterization of Metabolites, Proteins, VLP, antibodies or others, in human or veterinary pharmaceutical industry. You have motivation to develop a biochemical characterization activity of biological products relying on your technical and scientific background.

You have a pronounced taste for cross-functional work and good communication. You master the quality (BPL/BPF) and regulatory references.

You wish to work in a stimulating and international environment, with multiple actors. You master biochemical analysis techniques such as HPLC / UHPLC techniques (Gel filtration, ion exchange…), mass spectrometry, Western Blot and DOT BLOT, SDS PAGE, colorimetric assays of proteins…

Good level of English required.
