Thursday, Friday, Saturday and every other Wednesday 6:30am-7pm
The Security Officer maintains a safe and secure environment by patrolling premises, monitoring surveillance equipment, and enforcing security policies. This role helps prevent theft, vandalism, and unauthorized access while ensuring the safety of Saint Francis Health System (SFHS) patients, visitors, staff, equipment, supplies, facilities, and hospital contents.
Minimum EducationHigh School Diploma or GED.
Licensure, Registration and/or CertificationCLEET Armed Security Guard License. Certified Peace Officers must obtain CLEET Armed Security Guard Certification within ninety days (90) of hire.
Work ExperienceMinimum 1 year of related security experience, preferred.

- Ability to utilize effective verbal, written, and listening skills to effectively communicate with the public.
- Ability to utilize positive interpersonal skills to interact with patients, visitors, and hospital staff.
- Ability to maintain professional and courteous demeanor during highly stressful and fast‑paced situations.
- Actively patrols premises to monitor activity, controls access to restricted areas, responds to emergencies, prevents unauthorized entry, and detects suspicious behavior.
- Ensures compliance with site rules, policies, and safety procedures.
- Protects patients, staff, and visitors, enforces hospital policies, and coordinates with law enforcement when necessary.
- Maintains vigilance and responds to potential threats while deterring theft or vandalism through a visible presence.
- Documents and reports security incidents, suspicious activities, and breaches.
- Assists with evacuations and emergency response procedures.
- Ensures adherence to legal and regulatory security requirements.
- Enforces hospital entry and exit policies to prevent unauthorized access.
Independent judgment in making minor decisions where alternatives are limited and standard policies/protocols have been established.
Working Relationships- Works directly with patients and/or customers.
- Works with internal and/or external customers via telephone or face‑to‑face interaction.
