Xeikon, headquartered just outside of Chicago in Elgin, IL, specializes in designing, building, installing, and maintaining complete digital printing solutions for labels, packaging, document, commercial, and folding carton applications.

As a Field Service Technician, you will play a vital role in ensuring the smooth operation of our digital printing solutions. Based in the Manchester, CT area, your primary responsibilities will include:

• Customer Communication: Keep customers informed about all call activities, including scheduled arrival times, planned calls, and any deviations.
• Troubleshooting & Repairs: Diagnose failures and perform on-site repairs following company guidelines.
• Inventory Management: Maintain parts inventory and handle shipping of parts as needed after service calls.
• Reporting: Provide real-time updates throughout the day on service call activities and report any issues needing further attention.
• Special Projects: Participate in special projects as requested.

We are seeking candidates with the following qualifications:

• Education: Degree or certification in electrical engineering or a technical field is a plus.
• Skills:
  • Strong mechanical, electrical, and computer skills are essential.
  • Previous field experience and familiarity with "road warrior" travel are advantageous.
  • Knowledge of the printing industry is a plus.
  • Excellent organizational, leadership, interpersonal, and computer skills.
  • Problem‑solving and troubleshooting abilities.
  • Ability to handle multiple priorities, meet deadlines, and manage work‑related stress.
• Physical Requirements:
  • Regularly lift and/or move up to 25 lbs, frequently lift or move up to 50 lbs, and occasionally move more than 100 lbs.
• Travel: Willingness to travel 70% of the time with little notice; flexibility to work on‑call, including weekends.
