Senior Fire Sprinkler Systems Service TechnicianYou will play a crucial role in ensuring the safety and efficiency of our Smart Buildings. In this role, you will be responsible for the service and maintenance of commercial fire alarm systems, inspecting, testing, operating, and maintaining components according to the operational requirements of the customer. You will also mentor less experienced technicians and act as the face of Siemens to our customers, helping keep their buildings and inhabitants safe.
Responsibilities- Execute comprehensive testing and inspections for systems under maintenance agreements.
- Create detailed test and inspection reports based on code requirements and customer needs.
- Respond swiftly to troubleshoot and complete necessary repairs to maintain system functionality; report activities completed, deferred, or requiring further action or material.
- Identify code and non‑conformance issues, ensuring adherence to required standards.
- Quote small repair jobs and provide detailed parts and labor requirements to estimators and sales for large repair projects.
- Plan work with supervisors to strategize tasks effectively.
- Mentor on‑the‑job training to less experienced technicians, fostering a culture of growth and knowledge‑sharing.
- 3+ years’ experience in the installation and/or maintenance of commercial fire sprinkler systems.
- Connecticut F2 journeyman's license.
- Ability to use hand tools, laptop, email, smartphone, and tablet; carry and move equipment and tools weighing up to 50 pounds unassisted.
- Ability to read and understand design and construction documents.
- Legally authorized to work in the United States on a continual and permanent basis without company sponsorship.
- Must be 18 years of age and possess a valid driver's license with limited violations.
- High school diploma or state‑recognized GED; associate degree in electronics or related field preferred.
- 5+ years’ experience in the installation and/or maintenance of commercial fire alarm systems.
