Position Title: HVAC Maintenance Technician
The HVAC Maintenance Technician plays a crucial role in ensuring the efficient operation of heating, ventilation, and air conditioning systems within a variety of facilities. This position requires a strong background in commercial HVAC systems, particularly in environments such as hospitals, life sciences, and high‑rise office buildings. The technician will be responsible for diagnosing and resolving HVAC issues, performing routine inspections, and maintaining optimal system performance.
Candidates should be prepared to work independently while collaborating with facility managers and other team members. The role also demands a commitment to ongoing learning and adaptation in a dynamic work environment.
- Conduct routine inspections and maintenance of HVAC systems
- Diagnose issues and perform repairs on heating and cooling equipment
- Document work orders and maintain accurate records
- Collaborate with facility managers to determine equipment responsibility
- Respond to on‑call requests and provide 24/7 support as needed
- Navigate building automation systems to assess HVAC performance
- Perform daily rounds and inspections to ensure system efficiency
- Maintain a safe and organized work environment
- Commercial experience is required
- Experience in central plant facility management is required
- Licensed HVAC (D2, S2, or Registered state of Conn Apprentice) is required
- GED is required
- Strong English communication skills are required
- Decent technical skills are required
- 5+ years of facilities experience is required if no educational background
- 2+ years of experience with a license or working towards a license is required if educational background exists
- Flexibility to work on‑call and support operations 24/7 is required
- A degree is preferred
