This position is responsible for ensuring the integrity and safe working condition of all shop and billboard mounted electrical components/systems.
Essential Functions- Installation and repair of wiring and conduit within the scope of the NEC (National Electrical Code).
- Repair and maintenance of electrical fixtures and control equipment, including (Time Clock) setup and programming.
- Planning for new or modified installations to minimize waste of material, provide access for future maintenance, and lock all disconnects when leaving a sign.
- Installation of equipment such as lighting fixtures, relays, ballast, breakers, disconnects, circuit breakers, and fuses.
- Use of the lock‑out tag‑out method.
- Identification and prompt reporting of any unsafe conditions observed.
- Understanding of LED lighting and billboard‑mounted digital displays.
- Maintenance of billboard‑mounted digital displays, including repairs.
Climbing and working at elevated heights in different weather and heat conditions; sitting, walking, standing, speaking, hearing, reading, kneeling, lifting, and carrying a minimum of 50 lbs.; multiple concurrent tasks; frequent interruptions; verbal and written communication; detailed work and confidentiality.
Equipment Used- Safety harness with lanyard and other personal protective equipment.
- Various ladders.
- Multimeter to determine voltage.
- Power tools and hand tools.
- Minimum of 2 years of electrical experience.
- Ability to safely climb and work at elevated heights, 60 ft or more, without fear.
- Read blueprints and schematics.
- Ability to troubleshoot and fix electrical problems.
- Licensed electrician or sufficient knowledge and experience to meet the definition of a qualified person in a sign/billboard work environment.
- Experience working with voltages from 120 to 240V single‑phase and 208V three‑phase.
Salary range: $23‑$25 per hour. Compensation is determined during the interview process by assessing a candidate’s experience and skills relative to internal peers and market benchmarks for the scope and responsibilities of the position.
