Part-Time Boys Youth Mentor / Counselor

Friday and Saturday noon-10:00pm (20 hours per week)

The Youth Mentor/Counselor position provides direct care, supervision, and assistance to adolescents during school and group times, acting as a role model that reinforces individualized treatment plans. The Mentor facilitates appropriate groups and conducts therapeutic programming under the supervision of the Clinician and Shift Supervisor, addressing sensitive issues such as mental health, suicide, and contraband.

• Maintain constant sight and sound supervision of youths within established program expectations and guidelines.
• Ensure physical safety of youth and provide crisis intervention as needed.
• Follow established routines, schedules, and structure, such as wake up, bedtimes, and transitions to school.
• Record observations and maintain daily documentation and logs.
• Monitor access to and ensure personal hygiene of youths; maintain and upkeep bedrooms.
• Monitor and report healthcare needs or concerns; ensure compliance with daily medication regimen through support, encouragement, and self‑care education.
• Accompany youths between facilities, meetings, appointments, and other activities.
• Ensure living spaces are organized, clean, safe, and free from hazards.
• Supervise youths during mealtimes.
• Support and facilitate the implementation of youths’ individualized care plans and schedules.
• Assist in pre‑orientation, admission, and intake processes.
• Facilitate groups and may lead psycho educational groups.
• Provide transportation to adolescents and families as programmatic needs dictate.

Friday and Saturday noon-10:00pm (20 hours per week)

$19.81 per hour

Overtime / Time and a half eligible. Able to pick up additional hours if desired.

• Minimum high‑school diploma or equivalent – required.
• Minimum 6 months’ experience working with at‑risk or court‑involved adolescents in a direct‑care setting – required.
• Valid driver’s license to use a company‑provided vehicle – required.
