Lead Intake Specialist (Bilingual English/Spanish)
Domestic Violence Programs | Full-Time

Are you passionate about helping survivors of domestic violence access safety, support, and hope? We are seeking a compassionate, organized, and bilingual Lead Intake Specialist to serve as a critical first point of contact for individuals seeking services through our Family Justice Center.

In this highly impactful role, you will lead the intake process, coordinate client support services, provide crisis intervention and advocacy, and collaborate with community partners to help survivors navigate their path toward safety and healing. What

You'll Do:

Lead Client Intake & Service Coordination
  • Oversee intake and service inquiry processes to ensure clients receive timely and effective support.
  • Welcome and assist clients while ensuring all intake documentation is completed accurately and sensitively.
  • Explain available programs and connect clients with internal and community-based resources.
  • Monitor client access to services and recommend process improvements to enhance the client experience.
Provide Advocacy & Crisis Support
  • Deliver trauma-informed emotional support to survivors of domestic violence.
  • Provide crisis intervention, safety planning, and advocacy services.
  • Help clients identify strengths, develop coping strategies, and build confidence as they move toward safety and stability.
Collaborate with Community Partners
  • Coordinate and facilitate Client Care Plan Meetings.
  • Build and maintain strong partnerships with law enforcement, service providers, and community organizations.
  • Serve as a key liaison between clients and multidisciplinary service teams.
  • Participate in community and agency meetings to strengthen collaboration and support outcomes for survivors.
Reporting & Program Support
  • Prepare intake forms, reports, and program documentation.
  • Collect and provide narrative and statistical data for grant-funded programs, including VOCA and CDBG initiatives.
  • Support quality assurance and program effectiveness through accurate recordkeeping and reporting.
Office & Safety Leadership
  • Serve as the Safety Officer for the Family Justice Center office.
  • Coordinate facility-related concerns with maintenance and property management.
What We're Looking For:

Required Qualifications
  • Bachelor's Degree required.
  • Bilingual fluency in English and Spanish (reading, writing, and speaking).
  • Strong customer service, communication, and interpersonal skills.
  • Experience working with diverse populations in a professional setting.
  • Valid driver's license with an acceptable driving record and insurability.
  • Must be able to obtain and maintain the domestic violence counselor certification per CGS 52-146K before providing direct service to clients, followed with six-hour recertification on an annual basis.
