Social Work Assistant

With supervision and/or consultation with a clinical social worker or social work team, the social work assistant provides social work services to the Neonatal, Pediatric, Adolescent, Adult and Geriatric patients/families/staff in the Yale-New Haven Hospital network. EEO/AA/Disability/Veteran
Responsibilities- Social Work Assistant Practice
- Develop a full psychosocial assessment responsive to the Neonatal, Pediatric, Adolescent, Adult and Geriatric patients/families/staff needs and concerns
- Professional Development
- Maintain and enhance knowledge of growth and development of the Neonatal, Pediatric, Adolescent, Adult, and Geriatric populations through educational opportunities and meet expectations set forth by Hospital and departmental standards.
- Accountability
- Accountable for following hospital/department policy and procedures, NASW code of ethics and any other Hospital governmental and/or regulatory policies, rules or regulations.
EDUCATION:
Bachelor of Social Work or Bachelor's degree from an accredited School of Social Work.
EXPERIENCE:
Minimum of two field placements from an accredited School of Social Work in an appropriate clinical setting.
LICENSURE:
Not applicable.
SPECIAL
SKILLS:
Provide social work services in a health care setting. Computer experience and knowledge of word processing, spreadsheet and data entry systems.
